    CLASS ASSIGNMENTS

Classroom assignments will be provided to families by August 17th. We understand that parents and students are eagerly awaiting this information. We appreciate your patience and will get this information to parents ASAP. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate requests from parents to build classes based on "pods" parents are forming because it would prevent teachers from forming balanced classes of students.

    BRSSD EMAILS & INFORMATION

Over the next week, please look for an email from BRSSD with "Student Information Update." It is important to complete the form included so you can receive district and school information. Everyone that completes this will receive an email within a few days before school starts with your child's classroom placement. Please let us know if you are not receiving updates and information from BRSSD or Central.

    BRSSD WEBSITE

During this time of change and uncertainty, miscommunication can inadvertently occur. Please bookmark and refer to the BRSSD website for information regarding such things as district calendar, Superintendent's updates, and the Board of Trustee documents. https://www.brssd.org/

    GET THE SCOOP!

Don't forget to sign up for and read the weekly Central Newsletter called "The Scoop." This will be emailed directly to you each Tuesday. Through this communication, you'll find helpful resources, reminders of school events, activities and updates. Sign up via text by messaging 228-28 with the word Centralscoop. It's that easy! You will be prompted to enter an email address which will be automatically added to the distribution list. Get Connected!

    TECHNOLOGY NEEDS

We will be sending out a questionnaire to assess the technology needs for the BRSSD students in your household. The information we gather will be used to coordinate device distribution with other materials distribution at Central. We will also include device recommendations and internet content filtering solutions for families who are interested in purchasing their own technology.

    2020-2021 SCHOOL SUPPLIES

Our wonderful PTA is covering the cost of school supplies for the 2020-2021 school year, so you do not have to purchase anything! Your contributions to our PTA/SchoolForce helped make this possible for our children. THANK YOU! Teachers will be in communication with you directly about picking up and managing materials at the start of the school year.

    Lunch Master Announcement:

Lunch prices are now $5.75 and emergency lunches are $7.25. Please make sure that all the information is correct on your student's account here.

    NEWS

    Congratulations Central Elementary!

    Dear Central Families,

I am thrilled to announce that Central Elementary is being recognized as a 2020 California Distinguished School awardee!

The California Distinguished School Award is  given by the California Department of Education to public schools within the state that best represent exemplary and quality educational programs. Approximately 5% of California schools are awarded this honor each year following a rigorous selection process.

This is quite an honor and a direct reflection of the hard work and dedication of our Central students, staff, and community.

In his letter, State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tony Thurmond gives thanks to the “...teachers, administrators, classified employees, and parents who are working together to meet the needs of all of their students to provide high-quality educational experiences, and put kids on a pathway to great careers.”

Congratulations on this achievement, and thank you all for continually fighting for a better future for our kids.

    Sincerely,

    Chris Marchetti
